Case Study COUTTS FAMILY BUSINESS AWARDS 2009

Coutts & Co is the UK private banking arm of the Royal Bank of Scotland. Coutts & Co offers clients a range of products and services covering sophisticated investment products together with expertise in trust and fiduciary services and UK tax and banking services. Coutts commercial banking arm also provides full banking service to UK businesses.

The first Coutts & Co regional office to be opened was Eton in 1961. Today, Coutts & Co has regional offices in Bath, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Chelmsford, Cheltenham, Eton, Exeter, Guildford, Hampshire, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Newcastle upon Tyne, Nottingham, Oxford, Reading, Sheffield and Tunbridge Wells.

Every year the Family Business Team reward the best family businesses banking at Coutts, and put on a lavish awards dinner at their flagship bank on The Strand, London. This year (2009) Alive & Sound won the contract to provide the set design, AV equipment, and production of the show in liaison with the in house events team.

Using a combination of a 14ft screen and black set with uplighters, we projected videos and live footage throughout the evening through one of our Sanyo XF46 Projectors (12,000 Lumens). The projection was particularly challenging as there was no suitable place for rear projection and the only area available to place the projector was on a balcony behind a glass window. However using an extra long throw lens we achieved our goals and produced an amazingly vibrant screen for the evening. This was complimented by a selection of 50" Samsung Plasma screens around the courtyard.

The evenings entertainment included a live performance from Il Divo competitors Blake. We worked with their sound engineers to create a fantastic sound through our PA system, which compromised of 4 x FBT Verve 10 Speakers, 2 x FBT Verve 18S Subs, and a range of compressors and audio processors.
